Monster Conservation Ordinance 46294-A
At the west end of the circle
Is the monster that no man fears
Sufficiently
Not Negligence, not Ignorance,
Not Malice, not Greed,
Not Conspiracy
Witness the beast whose claws
Are good intentions, whose teeth
Are (creature) comforts
Whose horns and hooves
Are security and fairness
And justice for all
Witness the grizzly bear
Panhandling for cigarettes
Along the roadway at Yellowstone
Only fearsome when one
Denies it the object
Of its addictions
Filled to the brim with
Bovine scatology
And concern for your well-being
I recommend we both
Run like hell.
